Who Are We?

The Family Place is a community organization and safe place for families to come for connection, support and a breath of fresh air. Through our open play time and our parent-led peer support circles, we aim to bolster the emotional and mental health of everyone who walks through our door. All programs are free and open to all. Come join us!

The Family Place values the voices and experiences of parents in shaping our programs and services. Our Parent Advisory Board provides an opportunity for parents to share insights, offer feedback, and collaborate with our team to ensure we meet the needs of families in our community. By working together, we create a stronger, more inclusive environment that empowers families and fosters connection.

Our History

The Family Place has been a cornerstone of support for families in Transylvania County since its founding in 1997. It began when a group of parents recognized the need for a space where families could connect, share experiences, and grow together. They envisioned a safe, supportive environment where parents could learn, children could engage, and families could thrive as a community. Over the years, The Family Place has grown to include two locations in Brevard and Rosman, expanding its reach and impact. Today, it remains true to its mission of strengthening families and building resilience through support, education, and community-building, serving as a vital resource for families across Transylvania County.
